Actually, it’s surprising when one considers old images taken after the building was constructed; standing alone in a field. When I visited Dessau in 1995 the Bauhaus was completely surrounded by buildings which appear at least 100 years older. A testament to how well it has held up as a “modern” structure as opposed to its (more recent) context…
